Rotary Core Drilling – Randburg

Rotary Core Drilling rig

Date: 10/05/2025

We recently completed a successful rotary core drilling project for a school in Randburg. Two boreholes were drilled to a depth of 35 meters, despite challenging ground conditions.

The site, located on an old dumping ground, presented difficulties such as rubble, large boulders, and unpredictable material transitions.

Both positions required 70% casing due to significant water loss. Drilling through rubble and diabase, only hitting rock at 34 meters, tested both our team and equipment,..

Thanks to our triple tube core barrel, we achieved excellent core recovery in both the clay layers and the diabase. We’re proud of the Rivicore team for completing this project safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
