Rivicore Completes Pile Contact Drilling for Major N4 Bridge Project

Rivicore recently completed a pile contact drilling investigation along the N4 past Nelspruit, supporting the construction of a new bridge as part of a major road upgrade on this key transport corridor.

The scope of work included drilling 10 pile contact holes inside existing bridge piles. These piles extend to depths of approximately 14 metres, and our team was responsible for drilling the final 3 metres from the concrete pile into the underlying rock to confirm proper pile founding conditions.

All drilling was completed using rotary core drilling techniques inside the pile sonic tubes, allowing accurate verification of the pile contact with the founding rock.
